Domestic Abuse is a huge problem that affects both victims and their children. It is very challenging to get out of domestic abuse situations, from the mental and psychological aspects to the financial control which is commonly involved. Once out of the situation, recovering can be very difficult financially and psychologically. Having had my own experience and challenges from a domestically destructive relationship gave me the desire to help others. That is why I pioneered the start of Hope Harbor Transitional Living, a nonprofit organization. HHTL offers rental and counseling assistance for women (or men) and their children in the process of recovering from domestic abuse situations. HHTL provides rental assistance with a plan to achieve financial independence within two years and counseling support through various individual and group options. For more information, please visit HHTL or email hhtransitionalliving@gmail.com.

Challenge

Each of us has been affected by domestic abuse, whether personally or through a friend or acquaintance. The statistics are staggering; for example, Haven, a local shelter and advocacy group, has served 1,069 survivors in the last year alone. No one should be limited by their lack of somewhere to go when attempting to leave and need the resources to support recovery in order to flourish. I am thankful to be able to provide an additional housing option through Hope Harbor. Please, get the word out. Hope Harbor is here to help fill the gap.

Donations are greatly appreciated!

Please consider helping a survivor find freedom.
